Goa Packages from Delhi: What to Check Before You Pay

What goa packages from Delhi usually cover

In short: Most goa packages from Delhi bundle hotel, airport transfers and sightseeing, but they differ on flights and meals. Ask for those two lines in writing before you pay.

Open five Goa listings and you’ll see five prices that can’t be compared. One says 3 nights 4 days and shows a hotel icon and a meals icon, plus one for sightseeing. It never says whether the flight from Delhi is in the number.

That’s not you being careless. The listings are vague, and the vagueness is where the surprise bill comes from. If you want hotel and transfers and sightseeing sorted in one place, VeeTrips lists a Delhi-departure Goa package with the inclusions spelled out.

The rest of this page is how to judge any package, ours or anyone else’s. It’s the checklist I’d hand a cousin, short and a bit blunt, built around the lines sellers tend to leave soft.

The usual shape

A standard Goa package is 3 nights 4 days, or 4 nights 5 days if you’d like one slow day. It normally has a hotel, a pickup and drop at the airport, and a day or two of sightseeing by car. What changes from one seller to the next is the list below.

What to ask about, line by line

Line Ask this Why it matters
Flights from Delhi In the price, or not? The biggest swing in the total
Meals Breakfast only, or more? Beach-shack dinners add up quickly
Transfers Airport only, or sightseeing days too? A cab for the day is a real cost
Sightseeing Entry fees and water sports included? Often listed as “optional”
Hotel area North or South Goa? It decides how far you travel every day

The same questions work for every seller. If an answer comes back as “it depends”, ask what it depends on. Then get it in an email or a message, not on a call you’ll half remember. A package you can’t read back is a package you can’t compare. A seller who minds putting it in writing has told you something.

Do the sum yourself too. Say two packages for 2 people look 10,000 apart. Before you celebrate, check which one carries the flights and which one has dinner.

The cheaper one is often just the one with fewer lines filled in.

Which airport you land at

Goa has two airports now, and a package that says “airport pickup” should tell you which one. Dabolim (GOI) is in South Goa. Manohar International at Mopa (GOX) serves the north and, by one airport guide, opened in January 2023.

The distances matter more than people expect. From Dabolim it’s 40 km to Calangute and Baga and 28 km to Margao. From Mopa it’s 35 km to Calangute and Baga but 65 km to Margao, according to the same guide. So a South Goa hotel booked on a flight into Mopa is a long first evening.

Direct flights from Delhi run roughly 2 hours 25 minutes to 2 hours 45 minutes, but the same guide says door to door is usually about 6 hours once you count getting to the airport, waiting there and the ride to the hotel at the other end. Plan the first day as a travel day. Don’t book anything you’d hate to miss.

North or South: pick the one that fits who is travelling

North Goa is usually the busier side, with the Calangute and Baga stretch. South Goa is usually the quieter one. Neither is “better”. Parents with you? Quiet. Friends on a four-day break? Busy. We’ve gone deeper on this in our North vs South Goa guide.

One rule that saves arguments: pick the area first, then compare packages in that area. Comparing a North Goa package with a South Goa one is comparing two different holidays.

When to go

Goa’s southwest monsoon runs from June to September, and over 90 per cent of the year’s rain falls in it. The same page says May is usually the hottest month. So the months people usually book for beach holidays are the ones after the rain and before the heat, roughly the cooler, drier stretch of the year.

Monsoon isn’t a bad trip, just a different one. Beach and water-sport days are the ones it usually spoils, so check whether your package leans on them. I won’t promise you a dry week in any month. Nobody can.

Before you pay: a short list

  1. Get the inclusions in writing: flights, meals, transfers, entries.
  2. Ask which airport and which hotel area the price assumes.
  3. Ask what happens if your dates move. A person who answers the phone matters here.
  4. Check the price is per person, and for how many nights.

We’re a single-owner agency in Dwarka, so if your plans change the week before, you can call the office and speak to the person who booked it.

Frequently asked questions

Do Goa packages from Delhi include flights?

Some do, some don’t. A listing full of hotel, sightseeing, meals and transfers icons can still leave flights out. Ask. If the seller says “with flight”, get the airline and timing in writing.

How many days do I need for Goa?

Three nights and four days is the usual package length, and it’s enough for one beach area and a sightseeing day. Add a night if you want a slow day or you’re travelling with parents or kids.

Is a package cheaper than booking myself?

Not always, and I won’t claim it is. A package earns its place when you want one person answerable for the hotel and the transfers and the sightseeing, so there’s no chasing three different bookings. If you’re happy stitching it together yourself, compare both totals line by line.

Is Goa worth visiting in the monsoon?

It can be, if you want green hills and quiet beaches and you don’t need water sports. The monsoon is usually June to September. Check what’s open before you book.
