Goa trip cost: why one number lies to you
In short: A Goa trip cost has no single number. Flights, the hotel and the season swing it most: Delhi-Goa fares were about ₹7,639 on one August 2026 day, and 4- and 5-star stays start near ₹9,000 a night.
You search “how much does a Goa trip cost” and get a cheap number on one page and a very different one on the next. That isn’t you misreading. Each page counted different things: one with flights, one without, one with a beach hut, one with a resort. If you want the hotel, transfers and sightseeing sorted in one place, VeeTrips lists a Delhi-departure Goa package with the inclusions spelled out.
Below is the budget sheet I’d build myself. I found dated figures for flights and hotels. I couldn’t find a trustworthy current number for meals, scooters or extras, so I won’t invent one.
The five lines that make the total
Almost every Goa bill is these five, in this order of size.
What goes into a Goa budget, and what to ask
| Line | How to count it | What swings it |
|---|---|---|
| Flights from Delhi | Per person, return | The date you fly |
| Where you sleep | Per room, per night | Hotel type and season |
| Food | Per person, per day | Shack or restaurant |
| Getting around | Per day | Scooter, taxi or driver |
| Extras | Per activity | Water sports, entries |
Our package checklist explains how to read what a package leaves out. Here the job is the opposite: put a number on each line yourself.

Flights: the line you can’t guess
The Goan reported on 14 August 2026 that Delhi to Goa was about ₹7,639 for 14 August and ₹7,082 for 15 August, with return fares between ₹6,424 and ₹9,368. That was a weekend, and not even a long one. One airfare guide says last-minute fares for Goa weekends and Christmas to New Year can be three to four times the off-peak price.
So for 2 people, flights alone can be the biggest line on the sheet. Check two search sites and the airline itself. The same guide warns that the “headline” fare on a third-party site rarely matches checkout. The flight is about 2 hours 25 minutes. Allow longer door to door.
Where you sleep
Here the range is wide. The Goan puts 4- and 5-star coastal stays at about ₹9,000 to ₹40,000 for a weekend night.
A hut and a resort are different holidays. A hut is a bed near the sea. A resort is a pool, a breakfast room and a lobby. Decide which one you’re pricing before you add anything up.
One more thing from that report: a hotel association president said prices now rise throughout the year, not only in peak season. So don’t assume a weekend in August is cheap.
Food, getting around and the extras
I have no dated source for what a shack dinner costs, so ask your hotel for the going rate, and be wary of any page that gives you a confident daily food figure.
For getting around, ask your hotel what a scooter or a cab costs by the day before you decide which to use.
Extras are where a trip leaks. Water sports and entry tickets are the usual ones. Add them only if you want them.

How the season moves the bill
Christmas to New Year is the extreme, when fares and stays are at their highest. Our month by month guide has the weather side of that choice.
How the season usually changes each line
| Season | Flights | Stay | The catch |
|---|---|---|---|
| Peak season | Highest, especially Christmas | Highest | Book early |
| June to September (monsoon) | Usually lower | Usually lower | Beach huts closed, no safe swimming |

The monsoon row is my reading, not a quoted price, and The Goan’s point is that the old calendar is fading. Ask for two quotes in two months and compare line by line.
A sheet you can fill in tonight
Write the five lines down for your dates. Flights: price times the number of people. Stay: nightly rate times nights. Food: a daily guess times days times people. Getting around: daily cost times days. Extras: only what you’ve decided on.
Then sanity-check any package against it. If two quotes for 2 people sit 10,000 apart, don’t celebrate the cheaper one. Find the line that’s missing, usually flights or dinners.

Before you pay
- Ask whether flights from Delhi are in the price.
- Ask which meals are in, and which hotel area.
- Ask what a sightseeing day’s cab costs.
- Get it in writing, per person, for how many nights.
We’re a single-owner agency in Dwarka, so if your dates move you can call the office and speak to the person who booked it.
Frequently asked questions
How much does a Goa trip cost from Delhi?
It depends on the dates, the hotel and the group. In August 2026 a one-way Delhi-Goa fare was about ₹7,639, and 4- and 5-star coastal stays began near ₹9,000 a night, so the two big lines alone can be large.
Is a Goa trip cheaper in the monsoon?
Usually, but I couldn’t find a dated percentage. The Goan says prices now rise through the year, so compare actual quotes. Beach huts are closed and swimming isn’t safe then.
How much should I budget for getting around Goa?
I have no dated figure, so ask your hotel for the day rate of a scooter and of a cab, then compare them for your plan.
Does the Goa trip cost change for a family?
Yes, because stay and cab are per room and per car, while flights and food are per person. Count each line by its own unit.
